No time

So, I'm back to work full time and school full time with no time for anything else. It's been a week since any laundry has been done and I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed. There is so much going on that it's hard to tell where to start, so I'm just not gonna put any of it on there. The funniest thing, though, is that Gavin, when we tell him NO, turns around and points his finger a you and smiles. Apparently the husband taught him that. He walks, he talks, he climbs, and he's a terror on 2 feet. I will find time sometime soon to put pictures on here of his birthday party. I promise. Until then, enjoy this food meme that I stole from Christi.

How do you like your eggs? over easy

How do you take your coffee/tea? I drink coffee, but only if it's cold outside. I can't drink it in the summer. I like it with 2 french vanilla creamers and some sugar too.

Favorite breakfast foods: Plain bagel with plain cream cheese and ham

Peanut butter: only in cookies

What kind of dressing on your salad? Russian or nothing

Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi all the way

What kind of pizza do you order? 5 topping weird shit for Guy and mushrooms only for me

You feel like cooking. What do you make? It all depends on what I have in the house... sometimes spaghetti, sometimes roasted chicken... sometimes something more complicated

Do any foods bring back good memories? My grandma used to make roast beef and it was awesome

Do any foods bring back bad memories? Ummm.. can you say open pit bbq sauce. My dad puts it on everything. I can eat it now, but I used to hate it.

Do any foods remind you of someone??? ummmm... not really

Is there a food you refuse to eat? duck, goose, pheasant, most of the shit my husband shoots

What was your favorite food as a child? Bread with butter and sugar on it

Is there a food that you hated as a child but now love? I used to hate anything bbq

Favorite fruit & vegetable: watermelon and mushrooms (are mushrooms a veggie?)

Favorite between meal snack: depends what I'm in the mood for... sometimes sweet, sometimes salty

Do you have any weird food habits? I eat all of the toppings off the pizza, then lick off the sauce, then eat the crust

How spicy do you order Indian/Thai? I don't eat either, but I'm VERY white, I dont' like most sausage because it's too spicy

Can I get you a drink? Absolutely... anything with vodka OR tequila.. NOT BOTH TOGETHER

Red wine or white? lambrusco red wine

We only have beer: I'll drink water

Favorite dessert? I'm not really a dessert person... no, really.

I've been working on this thing off and on for weeks now, and here it is, 3 days till party, and just now finishing. Great. Oh well, add it to the list of 8000 other things that I have to do before Saturday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAVIN!!!

Well, yesterday was Gavin's birthday and we did absolutely nothing. In fact, I didn't even get to see him until bed time. The reason being that we're re-doing our living room. He's been at the in-laws for the last couple days in an effort to keep him out of the paint and stuff. But, now we're done. I had a little breakdown though, yesterday morning. I realized that he's 1 and it made me cry. He has come so far in the last few months, let alone year.

At 1 year old, Gavin:

-walks completely unassisted but can't get up on his own, he still needs to pull himself up on something.
-is completely bottle free and only uses sippy cups
-says daddy, mama, doggie, ouch, uh-oh, and shakes his head no
-walks around with daddy's cell phone up to his ear, pretending to talk
-brushes his own hair
-loves to swim and play in any kind of water, especially the dog bowl
-has 8 teeth and uses them whenever I make him mad
-dances whenever there is any music playing
-gives kisses and hugs whenever we ask
-plays with his junk every diaper change (typical boy)
-walks around with his finger in his nose
-sleeps great-- 10-12 hours per night, plus 1-2 naps per day
-goes to sleep the instant his head hits his bed, no crying
-tackles the dog and
-refuses to be told no

It's amazing to see the little boy emerging from the baby that was once so little. He started out with colic, screaming for hours on end every night, to a sweet little boy who snuggles every night while I read to him. He is so alert and active and I'm just constantly amazed at how much he has changed. He is no longer a baby, but a toddler instead. That makes me weepy, to know that I'll never have that back again with him. I realize that I can have more children and relive the baby stage, but this is my first, and it will never be the same. He is such a little ham sometimes, scrunching his nose up at me while he walks on by. When he is getting into something he knows that he shouldn't, he looks back at me with the most mischievious look on his face, like 'alright mom, tell me no now.'

I'm so happy that we're done with the remodel, so that I can spend some time with my sweet little boy. I've missed him the past few days.

The past couple weeks have been a blur anyways. I was off on vacation from work, therefor, no internet access. When I came back, I was so swamped that there was no way that I could catch up AND update. Now my sister is nagging me about updating, so I am. Only because I'm neglecting reading the other blogs I normally read to update. There really isn't much else though. I need to get back to pretending to work. Have a great day everyone!!!
